From the theatre of Tarraco, where it was probably placed in the orchestra. It would have been used in the ritual ceremonies held prior to the theatrical performances.
In addition to the inscription on the front, “NUMINI / AUGUST(orum)”, referring to the numen (divine power) of the Augustuses, the other faces depict a lituus, an urceus and a patera, all elements used in ritual ceremonies.
