The MNAT joins the European Archaeological Days with free activities

11 June 2024

On the weekend of June 15 and 16 the National Archaeological Museum of Tarragona (MNAT) joins the European Archaeological Days (JEA) with a series of free activities. These days, which are held in the 46 member countries of the Council of Europe, aim to familiarize the European public with archaeology and its challenges.

On the occasion of this celebration, the different areas of the MNAT will hold an open day during the whole weekend. Thus, it will be possible to visit free of charge the TARRACO/MNAT exhibition at Tinglado 4, the Early-Christian Necropolis of Tarragona, the Roman Villa of Els Munts and the Monumental Complex of Centcelles both Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th, during the usual opening hours of each of the center.

In addition, the interested public will be able to attend two free guided tours on Sunday June 16th. On the one hand, the guided visit to the Roman theater of Tarragona, which will take place from 11 a.m. On the other hand, the MNAT itinerary "Life and death in Tarraco", to the Early-Christian Necropolis from 11 a.m., will also be free on the occasion of the JEA. For both activities it is necessary to book in advance as places are limited.
